All New for 2024: GRAND CENTRAL MADISON! Along with this new terminal, the LIRR's Atlantic Avenue Terminal was also added, plus historical track maps of the long-gone IRT 147th St. Yard and shops in Manhattan, a detailed look at the pre-1959 layout of the BMT DeKalb Avenue and Gold Street interlockings in Brooklyn, the built-but-never-used ramps from Chambers Street to the Brooklyn Bridge, the 1920s-era BRT and LIRR spurs to the Sheepshead Bay racetrack, and a few proposed-but-never-build extensions to various IND Lines.

In addition to these six new pages you'll find hundreds of historical notes and details of interlockings as they existed in years past, as well as opening and closing dates of various facilities and tracks. And for the first time, a more comprehensive look at chaining lines has been presented, with graphical depictions of when lines begin and end, and how lines are tied to zero points.

As always, the book depicts every track (with track numbers), every yard, every station, and many diverging route home signals. The book also encompasses the latest capital improvements, signal changes and track/signal renewal projects, including the newly-reopened 42nd St. Shuttle reconfiguration. As with past editions, Grand Central, the Park Avenue tunnels, Penn Station, PATH, and the Staten Island Railway track maps are also included. Current fleet data and train service requirements have also been updated.

Note that the PDF version is intended strictly for on-screen viewing and is not printable.

Economy shipping of the printed book is available for customers in the USA. Delivery times may be longer than Priority Mail (up to 10 days is possible), but for shipping to NYC and environs it's usually about 3 days. Note: UPS shipping is uninsured. If you choose UPS and your package is damaged in transit it will not be replaced. This is a result of a change to UPS insurance terms that excludes shipments of poly bag merchandise.

The book about NYC subways.

This book enlightened me about the understanding of the system of the NYC subway system since hopefully I'll become a train operator sometime in the near future.

Being given as a gift, which makes me wish that there was a hardcover edition - a minor suggestion for an otherwise comprehensive and beautiful source of information and inspiration. Bravo!

This is the ultimate New York City Subway Guide

I really could have used this before I went to New York City!!! We loved riding the subway to get pretty much everywhere - the PDF would have been handy on my tablet. The track diagrams are clear and easy to follow. The descriptions and history notes are interesting and engaging. We look forward to coming back someday. Good book for anyone, and a must for any railfan!

This book, in minute detail, explains and illustrates almost every aspect of the NYC subway.
